Frequently Asked Questions
How do I scan a QR code from an image?+
Switch to the "Upload image" tab, then drag and drop a photo or screenshot of the QR code, or click to choose a file. The decoded link or text appears instantly. Everything happens in your browser.
Can I use my camera to scan a QR code?+
Yes. Switch to the "Use camera" tab and press "Start camera". Your browser will ask for camera permission the first time — nothing is uploaded, all scanning happens locally on your device. Point the camera at a QR code and it is detected automatically.
Is this QR scanner private?+
Yes. The scanner runs entirely in your browser. Your uploaded images and camera feed never leave your device and are not sent to any server.
What happens if the QR code is a URL?+
If the decoded QR code is a web link (starting with http or https), we show an "Open link" button that opens it safely in a new tab, along with a copy button. Always double-check a link before opening it.
Why didn't my QR code scan?+
The most common causes are blurry, dark, or cropped photos. Make sure the entire QR code is visible in the frame, the image is in focus and well-lit, and the code is not cut off at the edges. Then try scanning again.
